Research funded by the Office of Responsible Gambling

The Responsible Gambling Fund (RGF) commissions and funds research to build an evidence-base for gambling harm minimisation that:

• informs improvements to policy and regulation
• evaluates and guides improvements to programs and support
• contributes to an informed public debate on gambling harm, increasing community awareness and understanding
• anticipates and keeps pace with emerging trends.

The RGF’s research agenda priority themes for 2021-2024 are:

1. Individual and community level gambling harm minimisation
2. Regulation of gambling products, practices, and environments
3. Gambling among vulnerable groups
4. Emerging technologies and new trends
5. Measuring and understanding gambling prevalence and harm
6. Efficacy and effectiveness of treatment
