On 13 September the NICC sent correspondence to The Star, seeking a response as to why it should not take disciplinary action in relation to the breaches detailed in the second Bell Report, prepared by Adam Bell SC.
The NICC has received The Star's response to its show cause notice and additional requests for information and will take the submissions into consideration when it determines what action it may take in response to the Bell Report.
In its response, the NICC will consider The Star's transformation progress, including management, operations and culture, and analyse whether The Star has the financial resources to properly discharge its obligations to complete its remediation program and continue the conduct of the business in accordance with the terms of the casino licence.
There is no set timetable for the NICC to make its decision and the timeframe may be influenced by other factors affecting The Star.
The NICC will make an announcement sometime in October to address Mr Bell's findings and any subsequent disciplinary outcomes.
